The time traveler here again. I was going to hold off and try to slowly post these but because Stephanie wants to see some bump pics I thought I might as well get them all up here at once. I appoligize in advance for incorrect grammar, spelling errors and general rambling. Blame it on the
morning all day sickness.
I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been going non-stop since vacation or if work is extra exhausting or if I really can chalk these up to pregnancy symptoms but today (6.18) I did not feel very good. Just overall tired all day, in fact I even skipped a work dinner so I could come home and lay on the couch. Chris even humored me and went to Albertson’s and got me Raisin Bran because that’s all I wanted for dinner (could that be my 1st craving?). And besides the tiredness I definitely feel a little pukey. All of this is so weird – in my head I keep telling myself that I’m only 5 weeks preggo so I’m probably just making up these symptoms but then again, maybe they’re real?
Other things of note – it’s so hard not to tell people I’m pregnant! Like I’m at work in meetings and I want to tell everyone! Or as I was walking out of a meeting I wanted to tell my friend, “oh I’m so tired from this baby” but then I remembered she didn’t know. I did however call my grandma and tell her about the baby. It’s her birthday today so I figured it was a pretty good present. She said it was the greatest news she’s heard in a long time and gives her something to live for :) And she hopes it’s a girl. Me too :)
On the workout front – I’ve managed to get 3 back-to-back workouts in. Sunday I rode the bike for about 20 minutes and then did Jillian Level 1 of the 30 day Shred. Yesterday I did 10 min on the elliptical plus pilates and today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and then sat down to do 10 minutes on the rowing machine but about 3 minutes into it I got a bloody nose. Awesome. That’s been my most random symptom so far. 3 bloody noses since finding out. Again – is this really a symptom or is it because of allergies? PS If you ask Dr. Google, everything is a symptom of pregnancy.
Other symptoms – not too many. Slight sore boobs but that’s about it. It’s really like my symptoms went away which is a little scary. I am still super scared of mis-carrying – I even had a dream about it last night but I’m working really hard on trying to let it go. This is in God’s hand’s right now.
Rest of the week update – on Thursday I felt awful. Like I got this heartburn that turned into stomach cramps that turned into nausea. Then I woke up Friday and felt totally fine. Saturday I was tired and took my 1st nap in years but it may have been from all the running around I was doing with Kara and the kids. That night I felt super nauseous again. I waited too long to eat dinner and that’s definitely my trigger. After I ate I felt better and felt pretty good when I woke up today. This afternoon I felt sick again, probably from not eating very well. Waffles and mac and cheese (for lunch) probably wasn’t exactly what AP (edited to add: Andrew Pinckney is what we’re affectionately calling this baby since that was the name of the hotel we were staying in when we found out) needed. I tried to eat some yogurt to get protein but felt worse after that. Wondering if AP doesn’t like dairy?
And now I’m sitting on the couch and feel totally fine with the exception of some sore boobs.
Other notable things this week – I spent time with Kara getting the lowdown on motherhood. Things I learned:
- The Bob has two types of wheels. Turning and stationary. I pushed the double Bob with the stationary wheel and that felt pretty tough to me. She said you get used to it but I think the turning one sounds better.
- Costco is where you need to go for diapers, wipes and baby clothes
- Diapers.com has the best prices on organic baby food
