So I’ve done a little running on the treadmill, a quick time around the block with Chance and a few bursts with Garrity in the stroller but nothing I would consider a real run. My knees are garbage and all the physical therapy I went through pre-pregnancy has all but disappeared so I’ve been pretty nervous to get out there. But I’m signed up for Hood To Coast so I knew I was going to have to get out there and I finally did.
Last night after dinner and after Garrity was asleep I somehow found the energy at 8:45 pm and ran 2.66 miles without stopping. Pretty darn proud of myself. My pace was 10 min and I’m also happy with that. I’ve never been a fast runner, usually around 9:20 so 10min was great. And best of all I felt pretty good. My knees were sore and I an definitely not used to running with a flabby stomach and thighs that rub together but that’s the new normal for now.
I even picked up the pace at the end telling myself as soon as I got home I got to see Garrity and that was great motivation.
And then I came home and had wine :)
